Artifact 1: Strategy Lesson
For my first artifact i chose my literacy strategy lesson that i did on context clues. In my lesson I included an I do, you do, we do, progression this provided the students with a certain amount of scaffolding as they progressed through the lesson. My lesson was formatted in a history context so I made sure that at the end of the lesson my students got to look at and work with a history text (FDR’s December 8th speech). The reason that this artifact shows that I understand how to apply this standard is because, the very theme of this lesson is teaching students a strategy that will allow them to decode texts and access information that was inaccessible to them before. then after they are able to decode the texts they will now understand the meaning of these unfamiliar words and will be able to use them in the future to decode and unravel future texts that may be connected. This artifact was important to my growth as a teacher because it shows that i’m capable of creating an informative and engaging lesson. overall I think that the strategy lesson was an excellent representation of this standard
